WE ARE THE ORIGINALS!!! A True Moab Off-Road Legend

Dan Mick isn’t just another tour guide—he’s part of Moab’s off-road history. Alongside his good friend George Shultz, Dan helped pioneer the Hell’s Revenge trail, laying the groundwork for what would become one of the most famous off-road routes in the world.

Dan also introduced some of the trail’s most iconic obstacles, including Mickey’s Hot Tub, the Gates of Hell, and the Escalator. Without his early efforts—both in creating these challenges and fighting to keep Moab’s trails open—Jeeping in Moab would not be what it is today.

When you ride with Dan Mick’s Guided Jeep Tours, you’re not just getting an experienced guide—you’re riding with the very people who built and shaped these trails. No other company comes close to the number of times we’ve driven them. We live and breathe Moab’s off-road culture, and it shows in every single adventure we give.

Why Choose Dan Mick’s Guided Jeep Tours Over U-Drive Tours

We understand the appeal of U-Drive tours—but let’s be honest: they’re a watered-down version of the trail. The truth is, we can do so much more when we drive than if we hand you the wheel. With a U-Drive tour, you don't get to interact with the guide one on one and you don't get to see him outside of herding everyone through the trail much.

Our guides are highly skilled and experienced off-road drivers, with decades of combined expertise on Moab’s most challenging terrain. We are the most capable tour company in Moab, and our one-of-a-kind Jeeps are purpose-built to conquer the toughest obstacles—forwards and backwards.

Our team isn’t just here for thrills—we’re dedicated to preserving the trails and ensuring that everyone exploring the backcountry stays safe. While other tour companies stop to watch, you’ll be in the Jeep that’s doing the obstacles they won’t attempt.

Some obstacles are available at additional pricing, but every ride is packed with excitement you simply can’t get anywhere else.

Family owned and operated! Veteran owned and operated!

We’re a small, family-owned business—and when you book with us, you’re not just reserving a Jeep tour, you’re investing in our family’s future. It might sound a little cliché, but it’s absolutely true. This business is run by several members of our family, and it’s our only focus. We don’t have other jobs, and we don’t offer other activities—we’ve dedicated ourselves to being the very best at what we do.

To keep your experience personal and safe, we limit our tours to no more than 3 Jeeps at a time, creating a cozy, connected feel on the trail. Our team is made up only of family and close friends, which helps us ensure that every guest is in the hands of someone we trust completely.

Dan, a proud U.S. Air Force veteran, brings discipline, skill, and a lifelong passion for off-roading to every tour. When you ride with us, you’re getting not just a tour guide—but a local legend, a trail pioneer, and a family who loves sharing Moab with you.

Cutting Edge Equipment

One-of-a-Kind Jeeps, Built for Moab

Our Jeeps aren’t just built for off-road adventure—they’re engineered to conquer Moab’s toughest terrain. We work with some of the world’s leading innovators in off-road equipment, and our partnership has led to revolutionary designs and concepts you can learn more about on our Sponsors page.

Some of our rigs are truly unique—two Jeeps welded together—giving us unmatched stability, power, and capability when climbing rocks and tackling extreme obstacles. This custom design also allows us to comfortably fit five adult passengers.

We also have other Jeep builds perfect for families, seating four adults and two kids, so everyone can join the adventure.

When you ride with Dan Mick’s Guided Jeep Tours, you’re not just riding in a Jeep—you’re in a trail-taming machine unlike anything else in Moab.
